Silver jewelry is made up of iron. Gold jewelry is a mix of iron and copper. I’ve worn both in the shower and they have done well when I dry them off immediately and keep them in a safe place when not wearing! 

My click hoops are specifically hypoallergenic 18k gold over stainless steel.
